After putting off packing for the past couple of weeks, the day before I was scheduled to leave (Monday), my bags finally made it to the top of the staircase where they were packed, zipped and ready to go. This was me on the morning before we left! One last picture in front of the house before Mama sends her baby off for a while! So, we boarded our first plane to Detroit, Michigan! We got a early exit from our gate and were prepared to make an early arrival in Detroit. However, due to EXTREMELY bad weather in Detroit we were not able to land and had to fly to Columbus, Ohio. Once our plane refueled and the weather had passed through Detroit we were able to try again.....Unfortunately the plane had mechanical problems that got us stuck at the airport in Ohio for another 2 hours! But shortly after are plane was fixed and we were ready to go! This is a picture (my view) from my window on the way to Detroit! After a long day of traveling, I looked out of my plane mirror and was reminded of the beauty. The beauty of God, the situations we had encountered (although not very fun) and the beauty of the people I would soon be in contact with! PRAYER: Please pray for our missions director (Will Gatling) as he deals with multiple flight changes and schedule changes, patience in a difficult situation! Pray for the whole team as we travel to Kenya and pray for a safe arrival in Kenya (approx. Friday night (Kenya time), Friday Morning(US time)) | I will miss this place (Jubala), these people and the people not pictured greatly! However, I cannot contain my excitement for the wondrous things God has in store for Me, Page and the people of Kenya! However, before I got on the plane I had to spend time at my second home, home to endless conversations, bible studies and lots of laughter for me. Many thanks to my grandparents for having A LOT to keep me busy on the plane! Even found this gem! |
